Burleigh Teapot Cocktail Recipe

 

It's that time of year when you start to think about entertaining friends and family. Have you ever thought about using your Burleigh Teapot for a cocktail? Well the talented Chris So does and he's kindly shared a recipe with us for you to try at home this festive season.

Who Is Chris So?

Chris founded WINELIST.HK, a Wine Media, Education & Consultancy Company in 2008 when the wine tax was abolished, dedicating to the needs for quality wine information, education and professional services in Hong Kong. Chris is a Master of Wine Candidate and has passed the theory and practical exams and is now working on the final research paper. Chris is also a Coffee Trainer, Judge and Consultant. Chris represented United Kingdom in 2024 and Hong Kong in 2018 at the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship.

Top Tips

The below recipe serves two.

Feel free to use less or more tea for personal taste preference. 

You can use lemon peel as garnish if you like, this is optional.

Tea Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients

  • 80ml Tea (Rooibos Tea or Black Tea)
  • 20ml Spirit (Mezcal or Tequila or Vodka)
  • 40ml Italian Sweet Vermouth (Carpano Antica Formula or Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino or both)
  • 20ml DOM Benedictine Liqueur

Method

Tea Brewing:

  1. Use 8 grams of tea with 80ml of boiling water.
  2. Brew for 3 minutes.
  3. Strain and chill the tea in the fridge for 15-30 minutes before making the cocktail.

Cocktail Technique:

  1. Add tea, alcohols and some ice in your Burleigh Teapot.
  2. Swirl the Teapot gently for 15 seconds.
  3. Pour and serve into two Teacups with ice, in this case Chris has chosen our iconic Blue Arden pattern.
