This Week’s Big News – Golden Week at Burleigh

Each year at Burleigh, we say a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful support we receive from our Burleigh super fans from Japan. Japan has been an important customer to Burleigh for quite some time now. We export pottery to retailers, restaurants, and cafés across Japan, and we also welcome a huge number of Japanese visitors to our retail store and website - both those visiting the UK and those living here for a time.

This year, 29th April marks the first day of a series of Japanese national holidays known as Golden Week. Golden Week begins with Shōwa Day on the 29th, a day to honour the late Emperor Shōwa, and also includes Children’s Day on 5th May, a celebration of the happiness and personalities of children. These national holidays are linked together and often result in an extended break from work for many people living in Japan, and sometimes even for those working for Japanese companies outside of Japan. So once again, Many Thanks for the support!

Gift With Purchase

Burleigh is giving away a mini Asiatic Pheasants teapot to the first 50 shoppers who spend over £75 on best quality items through our website.

Golden Week In-store

In our Factory Shop, we will be celebrating Golden Week with a special sample and trial sale, offering customers the chance to purchase some rare and unusual pieces. Making this a great time of year to pay us a visit.

We also have a very special teapot on display. A few weeks ago we were honoured to welcome the Japanese Ambassador to the UK, who tried his hand at decorated a teapot. The result signed by Ambassador Suzuki, who is proving to be a social media sensation in his own right will be on display in the Factory shop over the next 2 weeks.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
